  • Extract from haskap berry, which has antioxidant and regenerating properties, supporting the skin in its fight against harmful external factors, fatigue, and loss of firmness. Its richness in anthocyanins protects against damage caused by free radicals and is beneficial in combating skin aging. It supports skin renewal processes and improves elasticity and hydration.
  • RiFerm-NPG® is a patented ingredient derived from a carefully selected species of rice grown in Korea. It provides intense hydration and firming, reducing fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin elasticity. This raw ingredient is valued and awarded for its high effectiveness in combating skin laxity.
  • Inst’Tight™ C, an extract from the seeds of the honey locust tree (Gleditsia triacanthos). It instantly minimizes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, smoothing the skin and giving it a filter-like effect that lasts throughout the day. It works by creating a three-dimensional biopolymer network on the skin’s surface, which mechanically stretches and tightens it. Smooths and reduces wrinkles as early as 3 minutes after application.
  • Cosphaderm® Propanediol natural – acts as a moisturizing agent and a “carrier” for other active ingredients contained in the serum.
  • Pentavitin – works like a “moisture magnet.” It effectively and long-lastingly hydrates the skin by binding to keratin in the epidermis for up to 72 hours. It is used to improve hydration, smoothness, elasticity, and to soothe dry, sensitive, and itchy skin. It is an alternative to hyaluronic acid because it binds moisture in the skin for a long time and is not rinsed away like hyaluronic acid, which strengthens the skin’s natural protective barrier.

WHAT DOES THE NAME BIOHASKAP® MEAN?

Our brand name combines two phrases: "Bio" indicates the organic, certified cultivation of Haskap berry bushes, while haskap is the international botanical name of the fruit (Latin: Lonicera caerulea).

WHAT IS HASKAP?

In the language of the Ainu people, who inhabited Japan, the word haskap means “blue treasure at the end of the branch.” The berry was considered an elixir of life and youth. Haskap berry (known in Poland as Kamchatka berry) has been known on the island of Hokkaido for centuries and is highly valued for its health-promoting properties. Haskap berry is one of the richest sources of anthocyanins — powerful antioxidants that, due to their chemical structure, act several times stronger than vitamin C or other well-known antioxidants. The international name of the fruit, haskap, is derived from its Japanese pronunciation.

Our products are based on certified raw materials obtained through a top-quality process and ingredients sourced exclusively from trusted and verified suppliers. We also take packaging seriously, so our cosmetics are packaged very economically, and we ensure that as much packaging as possible is made from recycled materials and is recyclable. HOW DOES HASKAP PROTECT CELLULAR STRUCTURES?

Oxidative damage to DNA structures occurs due to free radicals. This process happens thousands of times daily within every cell in the body and is considered one of the causes of aging. Antioxidants protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals and unstable molecules. Haskap berries are regarded as one of the richest sources of antioxidants, which may limit such damage, thus preventing cancer processes and slowing aging.

WHAT ANTIOXIDANT CAPACITY DOES HASKAP HAVE?

The antioxidant capacity of haskap, assessed by several indicators (ORAC, DPPH, CAA, FCR), is considered one of the highest among berry fruits (such as blueberries, black raspberries, chokeberries). Studies on various haskap varieties have shown a reduction in free radicals ranging from 35% to 90% (Sharma A 2021). The organic extract of haskap berry used in the BioHASKAP® peeling face mask production achieved an ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) value of 28,950 μmol/100g. For comparison, fresh blueberry antioxidant potential is 6,500 μmol/100g.

HOW DOES HASKAP PROTECT AGAINST UV RADIATION?

Solar UV radiation reaching the Earth’s surface consists of approximately 90-99% UVA and 1-10% UVB. UVB is largely absorbed (95%) by the protective ozone layer. Nevertheless, UVB is the most active part of UV radiation we are exposed to. It is more genotoxic and about 1000 times more capable of causing sunburn than UVA. Researchers from Palacky University in the Czech Republic observed that haskap berry protects against UV radiation. It was shown to significantly reduce lipid oxidation and prevent DNA damage in keratinocytes exposed to UVB (Svobodova A 2009, Journal of Dermatological Science). These cells play a key role in skin barrier function by sealing the skin and preventing harmful substances from penetrating while reducing water loss. Keratinocytes form the living layer of the epidermis and produce important substances such as type IV collagen, laminin, and fibronectin, which together form the basement membrane between the epidermis and dermis. A study conducted on hairless mice fed with haskap berry extract demonstrated a protective effect against radiation and a reduction in changes in the cell nuclei of the basal layer of the skin exposed to UVA. (Vostalova J 2013).

ARE BioHASKAP® COSMETICS TESTED AND SAFE?

Our cosmetics comply with European Union regulations (EC) No 1223/2009 of November 30, 2009, and the Polish Cosmetic Products Act of October 4, 2018 (Journal of Laws 2018, item 2227). The BioHASKAP® peeling face mask containing 10% haskap berry extract was tested on 20 women. Application tests showed increased skin elasticity, brightening effect, hydration, and soothing properties (Nutracevit studies). Since haskap is a new ingredient in cosmetology, dermatological patch tests were also conducted with 30 volunteers. No positive reactions were recorded in any participant. The product did not show irritating or allergenic effects on the skin (Nutracevit studies).
